Tariq Islam

Tariq is a first generation Muslim American born and bred in Connecticut. He is a co-owner of a Construction Engineering firm and serves as a Project Management Professional for the design, construction, and inspection of Public Infrastructure projects primarily dealing in Transportation (Roads, Rails, & Highways).
In addition, Tariq loves community service in his spare time. He has previously served on several non-profit boards including Queens Community House, one of the largest settlement house charities in New York City where he helped oversee their $25 million budget which affected programming and aid for over 25,000 people. A civic-conscious person, Tariq believes in the power of local politics and getting the Muslim community in CT to get out, stay engaged, and advocate for themselves in our state & municipalities. He holds a BA in Public Policy from Trinity College (CT), an MS in Finance from the University of London, and an MS in Construction Administration from Columbia University. |
